Die Sterreweg

A team of 15 Belgian students from Artevelde University College Ghent and 4 students from Stellenbosch University visited Plettenberg Bay from 4 – 13 September 2018 doing research for a 3-year international entitled ‘Centre of Excellence – Aim for Die Sterreweg’.

The focus of the program is to help our day care centre for children with special needs, Die Sterreweg, become a centre for excellence and an internationally recognised reference for the care of children with special needs throughout South Africa.  One of the keys to the success of the project is to involve the community and ultimately create a ‘Town of Excellence’.  One of the team’s assignments were to look for potential partners and map the key players in the area surrounding Die Sterreweg, and so they earmarked and interviewed several schools, businesses, churches and social forums.

Our thanks go to the Plettenberg Bay community who embraced these wonderful students by setting aside time to assist with their research!
